Practice Nurse Hilary Shoesmith - Important Notice
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we regret to inform patients of the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Practice Nurse Hilary Shoesmith. We are deeply shocked and saddened to lose our friend and colleague, who has been a valued member of our team since she started at Shelf Health Centre in May 2002.
Hilary was much loved by patients, staff, and the many nursing students she mentored over the years at Caritas and she will be sorely missed by all. Our staff will endeavour to work in the surgery to the best of their abilities during this difficult time.
Alongside Practice Nursing, Hilary also spent much of her free time organising charity events in the surgery, including making her marvellous handicrafts and preserves to sell. She has been instrumental in embedding a kind and caring culture here at the Practice. Hilary was a fierce supporter of the NHS and went over and above the line of duty every day during her nursing career for the benefit of all her patients. We will ensure her legacy and hardworking ethos lives on. Rest in Peace.
Patients may wish to make a contribution, via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nurse-Hilary, in lieu of flowers to The British Red Cross Society. A charity which meant a lot to Hilary. On behalf of the practice we would like to sincerely thank all patients, colleagues and friends for their kind condolences, cards and good wishes. It has brought some comfort to us in very sad times.
