Advanced Nurse Practitioner - RGN PGD First Contact Care and NMP
An Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a qualified Registered General Nurse who has undertaken additional training and Masters level education in diagnosis and treatment. These advanced skills enable the ACP/NP to function in a very similar way to GPs in diagnosis, treatment and referral. All have a licence to prescribe.
A Practice Nurse is a qualified Registered General Nurse with additional qualifications and skills in all aspects of family health, public health, health promotion, travel health and sexual health. They are experts in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and heart disease.
(Trainee Nurse Associate)
A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is a person who has been trained to work with and assist the clinicians in all aspects of patient care. They have been trained to undertake an array of procedures, such as taking blood samples, and provide healthcare services, such as smoking cessation. Some HCAs have studied and gained a Healthcare NVQ. Their work is supervised and the clinicians are accountable for the work delegated to the HCA.

We have 10 Professional Support staff who have been trained to answer patient enquiries and navigate patients to the correct clinician best able to deal with their concerns.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners
A trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) is a qualified Registered General Nurse or a Pharmacist who is undertaking additional training in diagnosis and treatment. These advanced skills enable the ACP/ANP to function in a very similar way to GPs in diagnosis, treatment and referral.

This partnership has enabled us to offer new services to our patients:
Social Prescribing- our Link Worker will refer you onto community and charity organisations to empower you to manage your health better
Afternoon Phlebotomy (blood testing) – by an appointment at any of the surgeries in the network
Late sample collection - facilitating all day testing in surgery
Extra appointments in surgery hours with GP of Advanced Practitioner in surgery hours
MSK physiotherapy appointments – no need to wait for an appointment in the hospital
Clinical Pharmacists – specialising in structured medication reviews
Acute Visiting Service – trained paramedics
